Investigators Seek Info on Downtown Hate Crime

SPD investigators are seeking information about a suspect in a hate crime in downtown Seattle late last week.

Around 3:30 p.m. on November 18th, a man in a dark-colored hatchback was seen driving recklessly in downtown Seattle. He reportedly stopped at 1st Avenue and Columbia Street where he yelled racist slurs and insults at a 75-year-old woman, and then threw a container or motor oil at her, striking the victim in her back.

Police are following leads in the case but are hoping someone out there may have more information about the driver and his dark-colored hatchback, which may have been lowered.

If you have any information about this case, please call SPD’s Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
