#2021-336324/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 12-22-2021 at 0216 hours, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 1500 block of E Cherry St. Officers located an adult male in an apartment, with a gunshot wound (GSW) to the abdomen. The victim was treated and transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) where he was taken into surgery. The victim and two witnesses described the possible suspects as a male and female but were unable or unwilling to provide further information. Gun Violence Reduction Unit (GVRU) Detectives responded to the scene and recovered evidence of a shooting from a nearby alley. GVRU will handle follow up responsibilities.
#2021-336546/East Precinct/First Watch:
On 12-22-2021 at 1035 hours, a male victim was hanging out in a car with a known acquaintance whom he has purchased marijuana from in the past. While in a vehicle, the victim opened his wallet to determine if he had enough money to purchase more marijuana. At about the same time, the suspect (dealer) mentioned to the victim the vehicle they were in was stolen. All parties exited the vehicle. While outside, the suspect made comments to the victim making him believe he was about to get robbed. The victim fled on foot and was shot at approximately 3 times. He continued to flee on foot, obtained an UBER and fled the scene into the West Precinct. There he recognized he had been shot and called 911. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening wound. An area check and evidence search was conducted with limited results. Notifications were made.
