#2022-000105/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 0126 hours, a subject walked into Harborview Medical Center (HMC) with a gunshot wound (GSW). Subject stated it happened somewhere in the CID and provided minimal suspect description. Officers conducted an area check and did not locate a scene.

#2022-000135/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 0206 hours, officers responded to reports of someone shot inside the Stage Seattle nightclub, located in the 100 block of S Washington St. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male outside of the club, with a gunshot wound (GSW) to his shoulder. Officers rendered medical aid until relieved by Seattle Fire. Officers then formed search teams and cleared/swept the interior of the club but found no additional victims. Based on the provided description, officers located the suspect in the adjacent parking lot and took him into custody. Witnesses positively ID’d the detained suspect as the shooter. Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detectives responded and processed the scene, but the involved firearm was not recovered. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Assault and Harassment.

#2022-000271/West Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 0630 hours, a suspect entered the Westin Hotel and was contacted by the victim, who works as security for the hotel. The suspect threatened and spat on the victim while saying racial slurs. The victim believed they were targeted because of their race. The suspect was arrested and booked into King County Jail. The on-duty Lieutenant was notified of the bias crime.

#2022-000303/North Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 0700 hours, we received an information only call from the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) about a man in the area of NE 145 St with a gun. No person wanted contact according to KCSO. Roughly an hour later, SPD dispatch received a second call from a nearby business stating they wanted contact. Officers responded and contacted the caller. Officers investigated and confirmed it was an attempted robbery. Officers called KCSO back to see if they contacted the suspect. KCSO informed SPD that Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded and arrested the possible suspect for a different crime. Officers contacted WSP, met up with them and verified the suspect was the same person. The suspect was booked into King County Jail by WSP with their Probable Cause and SPD filed a second booking form for the attempted robbery.

#2022-000342/South Precinct/First Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 0922 hours, officers responded to a report of a female in crisis and making threats to kill herself. Upon arrival, officers spoke with the suspect and her sister and learned the suspect was highly intoxicated, had destroyed many of her own personal belongings, and made threats to drive her vehicle off a cliff. The suspect’s sister was concerned that the suspect would follow through with the threats to harm herself. Officers first plan was to ITA the suspect, but as they were contacting her, she kicked two officers multiple times in the legs (officers not injured). The suspect was arrested for assault 3rd degree and booked into the King County Jail.

#2022-000397/North Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 1110 hours, officers were dispatched to a report of a robbery in progress at the Office Max in Ballard. Reports indicated the suspect was actively loading up bags of items and taking a cash register from the store. When employees confronted him, he displayed a knife in a threatening manner. The suspect left the store and was contacted nearby by responding officers and arrested. The event led to the store closing for the day which resulted in an estimated loss of $15,000 in revenue.

#2022-000588/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 1522 hours, officers were notified of a disturbance at the Seattle Center Grounds. A suspect threatened an employee at the Space Needle, ran through the Armory, and threatened to jump off the second-floor railing. Suspect also pulled the fire alarm, sending families and fans outside. The suspect was taken into custody and booked into King County Jail for Harassment 2 and Malicious Mischief.

#2022-000653/West Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 1700 hours, officers responded to the area of 1400 Block 3 AV regarding shots fired. Witnesses reported a disturbance between two male subjects where one subject began shooting at the other. When officers arrived, one victim unrelated to the disturbance was located with non-life-threatening injuries and was rendered medical aid by officers and Seattle Fire. Officers secured the scene and located evidence of a shooting. Officers conducted an area check and found no additional victims or the suspect. The suspect was last seen heading westbound on Union St. Gun Violence Reduction Unit was notified.

#2022-000747/South Precinct/Second Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 1853 hours, a suspect stole a victim’s vehicle at gun point. Officers tracked stolen electronic items to an apartment complex. The suspect was found and arrested. K9 officers located the stolen vehicle and conducted a confirmation track back to the suspect. The stolen items were recovered.

#2022-000768/North Precinct/Third Watch:

On 01-01-2022 at 1923 hours, a suspect approached the driver side of the reporting party’s (RP) vehicle, began tapping on the window with a knife, and hurled expletives and racial epithets. In fear for his safety, the RP began driving away. In response, the suspect attempted to step in front of the RP’s vehicle and hurled threats of physical harm. The RP felt targeted based upon the suspect’s perception of his protected class.
