#2022-008382/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-11-2022 at 0015 hours, multiple callers reported hearing shots fired at the intersection of NE 43 ST/University WY NE. Witness business owner exited his building and reported seeing a male firing a handgun in the air at the given location. Suspect then ran west on NE 43 ST towards Brooklyn AV NE. Mid-block, shooter shot another volley of rounds towards the west. Suspect fled the area in a dark Honda sedan. Officers were flagged down by a citizen in an apartment building reporting a bullet had damaged his window (no injuries). Evidence of a shooting was collected at the scene.
#2022-008409/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 01-12-2022 at 0147 hours, an unknown occupant of a vehicle fired multiple rounds at the victim vehicle during a road rage incident. The victim vehicle fled up Aurora Ave N to the north precinct and the suspects briefly gave chase. The suspect vehicle turned off at an unknown time/location during the victim’s flight.
#2022-008500/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 01-22-2022 at 0621 hours, a victim was in an elevator in her residential building. Suspect entered elevator and demanded her property while pointing a handgun directly at her. She initially refused to provide her property and the suspect fired one round from his handgun into the wall of the elevator. She then surrendered her personal items and the suspect fled in an unconfirmed direction, likely in a vehicle. Before entering the vehicle, the suspect dropped the property, which was recovered. Photos of the scene were taken, and evidence of a shooting was recovered at the scene. Screened call with robbery.
#2022-008738/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-11-2022 at 1214 hours, due to the heavy rainfall, a landslide occurred on Highland Park Way SW near SW Austin St. The debris covered the entire southbound lanes of traffic. For safety concerns, Highland Park Way was closed for approximately 6 hours while SDOT cleaned up the roadway.
#2022-008941/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 01-11-2022 at 1634 hours, a male wearing gloves and a face covering entered a bank in the Interbay area and presented the teller with a note. The note demanded money and stated that the suspect had an explosive device. The suspect never displayed any type of device. The teller gave the suspect money (minus a dye pack or tracker) and the suspect exited the store and left on foot. The incident was screened with SPD Robbery Division and Lt.
