#2022-033740/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 0404 hours, a suspect was seen in the area after being caught on video burglarizing a nearby apartment building. Officers contacted the suspect to effect the arrest; however, he actively resisted resulting in a taser application. The suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A level 2 Use of Force investigation was initiated.
#2022-034059/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1205 hours, a suspect entered a Domino’s Pizza at approximately 1205 hours. He displayed a firearm to the staff and demanded all the cash in the tills. After getting the money, he commanded the employees to lie on the ground. He then fled the scene in an unknown direction. Patrol was unable to locate the suspect. Robbery was notified.
#2022-033993/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1300 hours, officers responded to the residence of a subject involved in hundreds of 911 calls over the past three months in the North Precinct. This morning the subject was involved in a felonious violation of a no contact order which has been a common occurrence of late. Officers responded, conducted a knock and talk and were able to apprehend the suspect without incident. Suspect was booked into King County Jail for violation of a no contact order and his verified $250,000 warrant.
#2022-034133/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1330 hours, officers responded to the report of multiple shots fired near 2 Ave and James St. Responding officers located a victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying the middle of 2nd Ave. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Evidence of a shooting and two handguns were recovered from the scene. Follow up will be conducted by Gun Violence Reduction Unit Detective. (Follow up SIR from 2200 hours) This is a follow-up to the earlier shooting at 2/James St in the West Pct. Based on information gathered from the suspect vehicle in this shooting, Det. from GVRU was able to locate that vehicle at an apartment complex in north Seattle. Det. then obtained a search warrant for the vehicle and residence. SWAT was notified and responded to execute the warrant. The warrant resulted in the arrest of two suspects involved in the earlier shooting. Evidence connecting the suspects to the shooting was also recovered. They were both booked into King County Jail. Det. was also able to view evidence that connected the two guns recovered at the scene to the victim. The victim is a convicted felon. He was booked into KCJ for UPFA under SPD 2022-34320. Follow up on both cases will be handled by the GVRU.
#2022-034227/West Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1430 hours, officers responded to Virginia Mason Hospital for a report of an adult male victim that had walked into the ER with a gunshot wound. The victim told officers that he had been asleep in an abandoned car near 3rd and Bell in Belltown when a suspect walked up to the car he was sleeping in and robbed him. The victim said that when he resisted giving up his property the assailant shot him and ran away. The victim received a gunshot wound to his leg but still managed to walk to the Virginia Mason ER for medical care. Officers located the scene and the involved vehicle with gunshot damage to the window and the vehicle was taken to the processing room. Officers searched for the shooting suspect, but he was not located. Robbery was notified of this incident.
#2022-034209/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1503 hours, officers responded to the Riverview Playfield greenbelt (approx 7000 block Highland Park Way SW) to investigate a suspicious vehicle parked along the trail. Officer located the vehicle, occupied, and contacted the driver. The driver fled into the greenbelt and containment was established. After the driver fled, the vehicle was discovered to be a Seattle stolen vehicle and officers located an AR-15 style rifle inside. Containment was maintained and KCSO Guardian 1 responded to assist in the area search. Guardian 1 located the subject hiding under a log and directed officers to his location. The subject was taken into custody without incident for possession of the stolen motor vehicle. A check of his name revealed he was a convicted felon and VUFA was added to the charges. The subject was transported to King County Jail for booking. When KCJ staff took the handcuffs off the subject, he punched a concrete pillar and was subsequently rejected for the hand injury. He was transported to Harborview Medical Center for medical treatment with a hospital guard in place until he can be booked into KCJ. The rifle and other evidence were submitted. The vehicle was not able to be towed from its current location until the owner could arrive with keys.
#2022-034210/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 02-09-2022 at 1507 hours, two unknown armed suspects entered a dispensary, assaulted staff, robbed the store, and fled the area. Robbery Unit responded and will conduct follow-up.
