#2022-057960/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 0026 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting near S Findley St and 4th Ave S. Officers arrived and located evidence of a shooting in an empty parking lot. Officers then contacted the caller, who reported that his motorhome was shot at. Officers did not locate any damage to the motorhome. Officers conducted an area check for the suspect vehicle, but it was not located.
#2022-058094/South Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 0500 hours, officers were dispatched to a local hospital for a victim who arrived with a gunshot wound to his shoulder and is expected to survive. Although the victim was not cooperative, officers were able to determine the incident occurred in the victim’s RV which was parked in the Georgetown area of the city. South Precinct patrol was unable to locate the RV.
#2022-058089/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 0526 hours, officers responded to a commercial alarm at a restaurant. Upon arrival, a suspect was located on the roof of the business. The building was surrounded, and he crawled down from the roof, where he was placed into custody. He was booked into King County Jail for the burglary and an outstanding burglary warrant.
#2022-058095/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 0535 hours, security discovered a non-forced entry burglary to a building. When security entered the room, they noticed multiple safes had been forced open. Several valuable watches had been stolen from each safe. The estimated value of the stolen watches was more than one million dollars.
#2022-058225/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 0856 hours, suspects were contacted in reference to a possible single vehicle collision. Upon arrival, officers noticed several catalytic convertors in the back of the car, multiple sawzall blades, a large amount of cash, and a book containing vehicle descriptions/plates and dates. The suspects were placed into custody and transported to the west precinct where they were interviewed by Major Crimes Task Force. A search warrant was written by patrol to retrieve the evidence. It is anticipated the 2 suspects will be booked into King County Jail.
#2022-058325/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 1052 hours, a suspect demanded a shopping bag from staff at a University Village store. The employee told the suspect the bag cost 98-cents. The suspect pulled a knife out of his sleeve and brandished it at the victim then stole 2-3 of the bags and fled on a red JUMP bike. The victim notified mall security who found and chased the suspect until the suspect turned to brandish the knife at the security officer. The security officer pepper-sprayed the suspect, who then fled again on the bike. At some point he threw one knife at a passing vehicle and drew another knife. He continued east to at least the 3400 block of NE 45th St where he pounded on a locked business door who refused to open it for him. Responding officers were unable to locate the suspect.
#2022-058376/South Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 1245 hours, GVRU, SWAT, CRG, and K9 conducted an operation to arrest a suspect wanted for Drive-by Shooting and Armed Robbery. The suspect was located at his residence (5500 block Beacon Ave S) and arrested without incident. The suspect was later booked into King County Jail.
#2022-058521/North Precinct/Second Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 1507 hours, an unknown suspect robbed the Washington Federal Bank, located at 14360 15 Ave NE. The suspect presented a demand letter to the clerk; the clerk complied and provided cash to the suspect. The suspect did not present a weapon, nor did he claim to have one. However, the note stated, ā100 percent cooperation or Iām going to have some fun.ā Suspect was described as a male in his late 20’s to 30’s, thin build, brown hair, facemask, long brown jacket, blue pants, wore a dark beanie when he entered, took it off during the robbery. Suspect was last seen on foot, heading south on 15th Ave NE. Unknown if the suspect entered a vehicle.
#2022-058767/North Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-08-2022 at 2020 hours, a passer-by witnessed and reported a “male repeatedly punching another male.” Investigating officers discovered the suspect hurled racial epithets at the victim prior to engaging in a physical altercation, then fled the scene. The victim believed the incident was motivated by the perception of his protected class. An area check for the suspect met with negative results.
