#2022-076616/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-28-2022 at 0109 hours, officers were flagged down by a victim claiming they had been shot at on I-5. The patrol officer began speaking with the subjects who were in the victim vehicle and learned that the driver had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. Washington State Patrol responded simultaneously and once it was confirmed the actual shooting occurred on I-5, WSP took the lead on the investigation. SPD remained on scene to assist.
#2022-076621/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-28-2022 at 0131 hours, a male was stabbed (non-life -threatening wounds) at 3rd and Union. Unknown suspect, with minimal description, still outstanding.
#2022-076642/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 03-28-2022 at 0228 hours, officers were dispatched to E Denny / Broadway for a report of a male chasing another male that was threatening to shoot him. Officers arrived and briefly detained one person, who was the victim. The victim stated that he was walking home when another male approached him with a large butcher knife and started chasing him. The victim produced a legally owned and carried firearm in self-defense and the suspect ran off. An area check for the suspect was negative.
#2022-076650/North Precinct/First Watch:
On 03-28-2022 at 0255 hours, a reporting party (RP) called 911 reporting he found a package near the skatepark. SPD responded and located the package inside the skatepark. RP declined to identify himself or provide any more details. Arson Bomb Squad responded and determined the contents of the package to be a deceased animal.
