On 03-30-2022 at 1035 hours, officers contacted a suspect in a vehicle to investigate a possible DUI. Officers opened the door to contact the driver, and he put the vehicle in reverse, causing an officer to grab on to the door to avoid being run over. As the suspect backed up, he nearly smashed the officer in between his vehicle door and a patrol vehicle. The officer was able to let go as the suspect stopped and shifted into drive. Suspect then fled the scene. There is Probable Cause for Assault on an officer and vehicular assault. Suspect vehicle was later observed by bicycle officers, but he was able to flee again in his vehicle.
