#2022-100975/East Precinct/Third Watch:
On 04-22-2022 at 2204 hours, officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1600 block of S Lane St. Multiple callers reported shots being fired and a possible victim hit in the area. The multiple witnesses on scene initially provided conflicting stories. Eventually, officers learned that a suspect entered a business and robbed a patron at gunpoint. The suspect left and the patron chased him to retrieve his belongings. At some point, both subjects began firing rounds at each other and the initial victim chased the suspect for over a block. The victim then flagged down officers upon arrival, and then ran from officers after briefly explaining he was robbed. Both the robbery victim and the suspect were located and detained, and firearms were recovered from both subjects. The robbery suspect was DOC active and was booked for UPFA, Assault 1, and Robbery 1. The robbery victim was booked for reckless endangerment, unlawful carrying of a firearm and property damage. Officers recovered evidence including ammunition, two handguns, and the robbery victim’s belongings. No person was found with any gunshot wounds. Robbery notified.
