#2022-139170/East Precinct/Third Watch:

On 06-01-2022 at 2309, officers were dispatched to investigate a reported stabbing at 7 Av/ James St. The 911 caller initially reported that he had been stabbed but appeared to be in crisis or intoxicated as he was difficult to understand and would ramble when asked questions. When officers arrived in the area, they located a male at 8 Av/James St who appeared as if he may be in distress. Officers contacted the male, who did not appear to be stabbed, but did appear to be in crisis or extremely intoxicated as he was actively drinking canned beer from a 6 pack. The male also denied being stabbed, but upon opening his jacket it became clear that he had been stabbed or suffered some sort of penetrating injury to his right upper thorax. Officers summoned Seattle Fire Medics to the scene, and immediately began rendering aid to the male, who then claimed he had in fact been stabbed. In addition to being stabbed and in crisis, the male was also apparently under the influence of alcohol and possibly narcotics as well. As a result, it was difficult to draw useful information. However, investigating officers were able to ascertain that the victim had been stabbed at 7 Av/James St by a suspect that the victim allegedly did not know, described as a male in his 50’s with grey hair, green sweatshirt and dark pants. The suspect also allegedly told the victim that the stabbing was for the victim “to remember me by”. Officers searched the area indicated by the victim where the stabbing took place but were unable to locate a scene or any witnesses. SFD transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center where he was rushed to emergency surgery. No additional suspect information is available at this time.
