UPDATE: Detectives Arrest Suspect in Fatal Industrial District Road Rage Shooting

Update, 8/22:

Police have arrested the 38-year-old suspect in this case.

Homicide Detectives arrested the man on Saturday and booked him into King County Jail for murder in the second degree.


Update, 7/26:

Detectives are hoping to speak with anyone who may have witnessed last week’s fatal shooting in the Industrial District.

On the morning of Thursday July 21st, a man shot and killed another man after an apparent road rage incident in the 4400 block of 4th Avenue South.

There were many vehicles stopped on 4th Avenue South when the shooting occurred, and detectives believe the occupants of those vehicles may include witnesses. Nearby surveillance camera footage shows multiple cars in the area — including vehicles similar to a Lexus SUV, a Toyota Highlander, and a Toyota RAV4.

Man Killed in Industrial District Road Rage Shooting

Detectives are investigating after a man shot and killed another man after an apparent road rage incident in the Industrial District Thursday morning.

At 10:13 a.m., police were called to the 4400 block of 4th Avenue South for reports that a man had been shot. Arriving officers found a 68-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the stomach. Police began first aid and then transferred care to arriving Seattle Fire Department medics. Medics transported the man to Harborview Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.

According to witnesses, the victim and the suspect had been involved in a road rage incident that escalated to a confrontation, and then a shooting. The 38-year-old male suspect reported the incident to 911, and remained on scene to provide a statement to police. Officers collected his firearm as evidence.

Homicide Detectives will continue to investigate this incident.
