#2022-202491/South Precinct/Third Watch:
On 08-03-2022 at 0110 hours, a male called 911 stating that he had killed two people, and he was going to kill anyone that showed up at his house. Officers arrived and surrounded the residence and were able to gain verbal contact with the male through open windows. The male was holding a large kitchen knife and stated that he was hearing voices. HNT was able to dialogue with the male, and he eventually came out of the residence, still holding the knife. Through continued dialogue and rapport building, HNT was able to get him to drop the knife and step away from the front door. He then reached behind his back towards the small of his back like he was reaching for a weapon and said, “look what I have”. A 40 mm was deployed, and the male was successfully detained. The residence was searched, and no one else was inside. The male was subsequently transported to HMC via AMR for mental health treatment.
#2022-203086/East Precinct/Second Watch:
On 08-03-2022 at 1600 hours, a reporting party stated that a male had jumped in the lake from the end of the T-dock and began to almost immediately struggle, then go subsurface. A couple of bystanders jumped in and began searching, several minutes later a 3rd person joined in and located the victim in approximately 10′-12′ of water. They were able to pull the victim to the surface, swim him to shore and passed him to Seattle Fire personnel arriving on the scene. CPR was initiated by SFD personnel. The victim was subsurface for an estimated 10-15 minutes. He was transported to HMC where at 1830 hours he was reported to be in critical, but stable condition.
