One Injured, One Arrested After Early Thursday Stabbing

Police arrested a man for stabbing another man early Thursday morning near the Chinatown-International District.

At 2:21 a.m., police responded to 6th Avenue South and Seattle Boulevard South for reports of a stabbing. Officers contacted a 58-year-old man with a stab wound to his torso, and immediately began providing first aid. Seattle Fire Department medics also responded and eventually transported the man to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment.

Before going to the hospital, the victim told officers the stabbing took place several blocks away, and he provided a description of the suspect. Other officers in the area contacted a man matching the description, and the victim identified him as the suspect.

Police arrested the 57-year-old suspect and booked him into the King County Jail for first-degree assault.
