Detectives are investigating after two men were shot and injured in Hillman City on Saturday afternoon.
Just before 3:00 p.m., multiple 911 callers reported hearing shots fired near the 6000 block of 39th Avenue South. Responding officers found two men who had both been shot in the leg. Several citizens had already begun first aid on the victims. Police took over and treated the men until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and assumed care, eventually transporting the 24-year-old and 42-year-old victims to Harborview Medical Center.
According to witnesses, the victims were in a small roadway between a school and a playfield, standing near their parked car when they were shot. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle.
Officers documented ballistic damage to other nearby parked cars, and collected evidence at the scene.
Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit will continue to investigate this incident.
