#2022-331702/East Precinct/First Watch:

On 12-12-2022 at 0934 hours, a female victim reported that a male suspect ran up and used a bias slur before punching and spitting on her. The suspect ran away but the victim was able to get evidence. Officers were able to determine the suspect lives at a nearby apartment building. Officers confirmed the suspect’s ID with staff, but he was not there.

#2022-331837/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1233 hours, two suspects driving a stolen vehicle robbed a community member of their mobile phone at gunpoint. Officers tried to ping the cell phone, but it was turned off shortly after the robbery. Officers were unable to locate the suspects and/or stolen vehicle. Robbery detectives were consulted, and Lt was notified.

#2022-331865/South Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1304 hours, community safety patrol members reported being shot at while walking across the street from Rainier Beach High School. Nearby residents and students at school called 911 to report hearing the shots. Officers contacted the community safety patrol members and obtained preliminary information that they thought they were targeted by the driver of a silver sedan. Nobody was hit and the safety patrol members left the area as soon as possible. Officers located and processed evidence of a shooting, however, some of the evidence was probably not from today’s incident. The shots were fired away from the school and no students were reported to be involved or at the scene. School staff members were present and helpful with the investigation. Additional evidence was collected. The suspect vehicle is described as a gray sedan driven by a male wearing a safety orange hoodie. Screened by GVRU.

#2022-332076/West Precinct/Second Watch:

At 1709 hours, officers responded to a reported arson near 15 AV W and W Wheeler ST. No injuries and no significant damage. Fire occurred near propane tank structure. Fire Marshal responded, and SPD’s ABS was notified.

#2022-332216/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 1948 hours, officers responded to multiple calls reporting a disturbance in an apartment building. Victim 1 was contacted and stated they invited an unknown male (Suspect 1) into their apartment to smoke marijuana. S1 observed V1’s large amount of marijuana and proceeded to rob V1 at knifepoint. S1 made race-based statements to V1 during the robbery that caused V1 to perceive the robbery as racially motivated. S1 fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers and was not located.

#2022-332246/North Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2030 hours, officers responded to a report of an armed robbery occurring at a 7-11. An unknown female entered the store with a handgun, pointed it at the clerk, and demanded money. When the clerk didn’t move quickly enough, the suspect yelled at him to hurry, then pointed the gun and pulled the trigger. The gun did not fire, and the suspect left with the money that was in the till. She then left the store and fled on foot. K9 responded to the scene and attempted to track the suspect but the trail ran cold. Robbery was advised.

#2022-332376/North Precinct/Third Watch:

At 2342 hours, two individuals were standing outside their vehicle in a parking lot located in the 14000 block of Lake City Way NE. A vehicle drove by northbound with the passenger shooting a handgun out the window towards the victims. No people were struck, however two vehicles parked on the side of the roadway and a business sustained bullet damage. Evidence of a shooting was recovered.
