#2022-38703/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1105 hours, an intoxicated adult male called 911 saying he has been impersonating a police officer and giving false tickets and wanted officers to arrest him. He later changed his story and said that he had a gun, hostages, will at shoot officers, and wanted police to shoot him. Multiple officers and supervisors responded. A line of communication (phone) was maintained with both the intoxicated male and his mother, with whom he lives. The mother assured us that the subject did not have a gun or hostages and was actually outside the house on the sidewalk by himself. The mother was instructed to lock her doors and not let him back inside. Officers created contact teams and blocked off roads. Subject was contacted, rapport established, he eventually complied, and was detained in handcuffs. No crimes were discovered to have been committed. Subject was sent to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.
#2022-349183/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2051 hours, a male suspect entered a retail store and collected approximately $200 of merchandise and headed for the front doors. As the suspect was nearing the front exit, loss prevention was going to address the suspect about not paying for the goods. The suspect pulled out a taser and began spark testing the taser. Loss prevention backed off from the suspect and the suspect fled the store and left in a white vehicle. No one was injured.
#2022-349235/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2152 hours, the victim arrived at MLK/Alaska light rail station and got off the light rail. 4 unknown male suspects followed the victim off the train and assaulted the victim taking her bags and fled on foot. Victim sustained minor injuries and cuts to her face from the assault. SFD responded and victim declined going to hospital. Suspects were not located.
#2022-349223/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2141 hours, officers were dispatched to a shooting call near Rainier Ave S and S Othello St. Officers arrived and located over 30 spent casings. There was bullet damage to a nearby house and a vehicle. The suspects had fled prior to officers arriving. No victims were located.
#2022-349191/West Precinct/Third Watch:
At 2103 hours, officers responded to a store in the 2400 block of 1st Ave to a report of an assault. After investigating, officers determined the clerk at the market confronted an individual for panhandling outside of the business on a public sidewalk. The clerk made bias comments towards the victim. The clerk retrieved a large can of pepper spray and moved the victim up the public sidewalk, discharging it on the ground to move him away. The clerk ultimately sprayed the victim in the face with the pepper spray while they were on the public sidewalk. The clerk was arrested and booked into KCJ for Malicious Harassment.
