#2023-056422/West Precinct/First Watch:
On 02-28-2023 at 1030 hours, officers were under I-5 when a large encampment fire broke out inside a tent. Officers pulled people from the burning tent and cleared out surrounding tents prior to Seattle Fire extinguishing the fire. One person was treated at the scene for minor smoke inhalation.
#2023-056483/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
At 1117 hours, a male was spraying bleach on the sidewalk in the 4100 block of SW Lander St. A suspect confronted the victim, and they began to argue. The suspect pulled out a baton-like weapon and struck the victim on different parts of his body including his head. Officers arrived and investigated the incident. Officers placed the suspect in custody for felony assault. The weapon was recovered. A witness recorded evidence, and officers retrieved it. The suspect was transported to KCJ but was declined. The suspect was transported to HMC with a hospital guard.
