#2023-084730/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 3-29-2023 at 0658 hours, an emphasis unit found an encampment fire at 8th Ave S/S King St. Seattle Fire was dispatched and extinguished the fire prior to it impacting I-5 traffic with heavy smoke.
#2023-085384/Southwest Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1800 hours, officers responded to a robbery call near California Ave SW and SW Lander St. The suspect shoplifted at a nearby grocery store and assaulted the loss prevention employee. Officers placed the suspect into custody, then transported him to KCJ. While in the sallyport, officers opened the suspect’s door to escort him to booking. The suspect spit at the officer which hit him in the face.
#2023-085243/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1601 hours, a caller reported a no-contact order violation, and responding officers had probable cause for the suspect from a robbery the day before. Officers located the suspect and arrested him. While being put into the back of the patrol vehicle, the suspect turned toward an officer and kicked at him. The officer was able to deflect the kick and close the vehicle door. The officer did not sustain any injury, but the deflection of the kick caused pain in his wrist. The suspect was booked into KCJ for assault, robbery, and a court order violation.
