#2023-095422/West Precinct/Third Watch:
On 4-9-2023 at 0023 hours, officers responded to the area of a local bar for shots heard. They located evidence of a shooting in the roadway. Witnesses stated that 2 males were standing in the street and fired shots westbound before running to a vehicle and fleeing the scene. A large line of patrons outside the bar apparently saw nothing. No victim was located and no property appeared to have been damaged.
#2023-095496/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0258 hours, officers responded to the area of 68th Av S/Holyoke Wy S for a report of shots fired. Officers located evidence of a shooting. The scene was photographed, and evidence collected.
#2023-095724/North Precinct/First Watch:
At 1220 hours, officers responded to the 5100 block of Ballard Av NW for a suspect who had returned to a bar where he committed an assault/property damage the night before. After being taken into custody, the suspect resisted entering the patrol car and spit in an officer’s face. The suspect was arrested for assault 3, and while on the way to jail, slipped his cuffs to the front and damaged the rear camera and rear passenger compartment. The suspect was also booked for malicious mischief; the officer sustained no serious injuries.
#2023-096040/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1900 hours, a mother and her 3-year-old child were walking near their home when a man walked up behind them. The man cornered the woman and her son as they retreated up an embankment until they had nowhere else to go. The suspect confronted them and the mother screamed until neighbors came to their assistance. The mother believed that the suspect intended to harm her and her son and that the suspect was targeting her son due to their Asian heritage. The man left the area but was contacted nearby and arrested for investigation of hate crime.
