Police are investigating a fatal collision in the SODO neighborhood Thursday.
Just after 5:30 p.m., officers were dispatched to reports of a collision in the intersection of 4th Avenue South and South Horton Street. Upon arrival, police learned a sport utility vehicle, a flatbed truck and a motorcycle were involved in the collision.
The motorcyclist, a 40-year-old male, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the flatbed truck was uninjured.
Early indications suggest the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed.
Officers secured the scene and detectives with the SPD Traffic Collision Investigation Squad will be leading the investigation.
