Detectives Seeking Information on Shooting That Injured Innocent Bystander

Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives are asking for the public’s assistance with identifying the suspect or suspects responsible for a shooting that left a 75-year-old woman injured in the Rainier Vista neighborhood Wednesday evening.

At about 8:45 p.m., officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting shots heard in the 4500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Way South. Officers arrived and located a woman with a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim was walking her dog when the shots rang out. Police provided first aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.

Officers secured the scene and conducted a K-9 track for evidence. Several shell casings were located nearby.
