A 40-year-old woman is in custody, and a 3-year-old child has been returned their family unharmed after the woman abducted the toddler in Rainier Valley Thursday afternoon.
Shortly after 1:30 p.m., officers responded to a reported child abduction near the intersection of South Rose Street and Rainier Avenue South. Officers arrived and learned the child was playing in the family’s front yard when a woman approached and lured the child into her vehicle.
Witnesses were able to identify the suspect. Officers located an address for the suspect and responded to the area.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., officers located the woman and the child. The child was unharmed and returned to their family.
The suspect will be booked into King County Jail for investigation of kidnapping
