#2023-247162/West Precinct/Third Watch:

On 8-27-2023, at 03:47hrs, officers were dispatched to 12th Avenue South and South Main Street for a person who sustained a gunshot wound. The caller not at the scene reported a man had been shot in the torso. Officers arrived but did not locate the victim. Moments later police received information that a man with a gunshot wound to his chest arrived at Swedish First Hill. Officers contacted the victim at the hospital and determined he was the victim they were looking for. The victim was later transported to HMC via SFD medics. Police found evidence of the shooting in a nearby parking lot near the intersection of 12th Avenue South and South Main Street. The circumstances that led to the shooting have not yet been determined.

#2023-247165/East Precinct/Third Watch:

At 03:48hrs, an East Precinct patrol officer was responding to assist WSP on collision that occurred at 12th Avenue and East Cherry Street. Simultaneously, a shooting occurred in the West Precinct at 12th Avenue South and South Main Street. As dispatched reported the shooting, the officer observed a vehicle pass and the driver appeared to point a firearm at the officer. A traffic stop was conducted and the occupants were asked to exit the vehicle. Police recovered a firearm without a serial number also known as a “ghost gun.” The male suspect was arrested for harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm. The female was identified and released from the scene.  

#2023-247658/East Precinct/Second Watch:

At 16:22hrs, multiple reporting parties called 911 to report a male pointing a gun at them in the 700 block of Cherry Street. The victims stated the male appeared agitated and thought he was going to shoot them. When officers arrived on scene, they located the residence, secured the location, and set up containment. Police obtained the identity of the suspect and a contact phone number. Officers initiated dialogue with the suspect and were able to have the suspect exit from his residence. The male suspect was arrested for harassment. A warrant was completed for the residence to recover all weapons and submit them into evidence.

#2023-247671/South Precinct/Second Watch:

At 16:36hrs, South Precinct patrol conducted a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle. The traffic stop resulted in three arrests. An assault rifle was in plain view within the suspect vehicle. The vehicle was impounded pending a search warrant to recover items within the vehicle.

#2023-247960/West Precinct/Third Watch:

At 22:40hrs, witnesses reported a subject was in an apartment building located in the 1000 block of South Jackson Street. Witnesses stated he was reaching in his pocket when a gun went off. Officers arrived and saw that the subject had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Police provided medical aid until SFD arrived on scene. SFD later transported the man to HMC with life-threatening injuries. Police located evidence of the shot fired.
