On Saturday, August 26th around 12:30 a.m., a man threatened to shoot a couple after they confronted him about scratching their vehicle.
West Precinct patrol arrived in the 2200 block of 2nd Avenue and contacted the two victims, a 21-year-old male and a 23-year-old female. It was reported they confronted a man after seeing him hit their car in a parking lot nearby. During this confrontation, a revolver style pistol was visible on the dash of the suspect’s vehicle. The victims decided to back away from the man.
As they backed away, the 43-year-old male walked past and threatened to shoot them as he gripped a firearm in his waistband. While officers were investigating the incident, the victims pointed out the suspect who was standing in front of a nearby business.
Police pursued the suspect on foot as he walked into the business. Once inside, the suspect locked himself inside a bathroom. Officers were able to locate him and take him into custody.
The firearm was located under the garbage can bag in the bathroom.
The suspect was arrested for felony harassment and unlawful possession of a firearm. He was later booked into King County Jail.
