On September 11, 2023, at approximately 1330 hours, the victim was pronounced deceased by Harborview Medical Center. The Homicide unit has assumed case responsibility for the investigation.

Seattle Police Department Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives are investigating a south Seattle shooting that left a male critically injured Friday evening.
Shortly after 5:45 p.m., officers responded to a report of a male shot near the intersection of 25th Avenue South and South McClellan Street. Police arrived and located a male with a gunshot wound.
Seattle Fire Department personnel arrived and transported the 39-year-old victim to HMC in critical condition.
No suspects have been identified at this time and the circumstances that led up to the shooting are unknown.
