Later around 8:30 a.m., police were able to locate an item from the burglary near the intersection of 22nd Avenue and East Pine Street inside the stolen vehicle.

As soon as police pulled into the parking lot, the suspect driver of the stolen vehicle drove off. A second vehicle, a BMW, was also observed speeding away from the location.

After completing a record check of the second vehicle, officers learned the BMW was an unverified stolen vehicle.

Police attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the suspect driver eluded officers as the vehicle drove towards 22nd Avenue traveling eastbound on East Pine Street. Officers drove in the direction the vehicle traveled and soon came upon a collision involving the stolen vehicle just east of 23rd Avenue.

When officers arrived at the collision, a female subject was seen exiting out of the driver seat of the BMW who then fled on foot towards 24th Avenue.

A short foot pursuit began which resulted in the female suspect being taken into custody in an alley near the 1500 block of 24th Avenue.

The stolen vehicle contained several other stolen goods from previous residential burglaries.

General Investigation Unit detectives responded to assist in the investigation.

The 26-year-old female suspect was arrested for possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, hit and run collision, driving under the influence, and obstruction. She was booked into King County Jail.
