South Lake Union Arrest Recovers Gun and Narcotics 

A man was arrested after brandishing a firearm in the South Lake Union neighborhood.  

Last Saturday, police received a call about a man threatening another man with a gun. Officers arrived around 3:00 p.m. in the 400 block of Minor Avenue North to investigate the incident.  

It was reported to police a verbal altercation had occurred between the male suspect and another man prior to the firearm being pulled out from the suspect’s waist area.  

The suspect was walking away from the location when police attempted to contact him. After several commands for the suspect to stop, he finally complied and was taken into custody.  

Officers observed the suspect walk into areas before he was arrested. When officers did not locate a firearm in the suspect’s bag or on his person, they searched these areas.  

The firearm was found within a pizza box in one of the areas searched. The other man involved in the altercation was not located, but a witness confirmed police arrested the man who had the gun.  

During the search of the suspect’s belongings, police recovered the following: 

  • Approximately 24.1 grams of heroin 
  • 6.7 grams of suspected cocaine 
  • 55.8 grams of methamphetamine  
  • 27.3 grams of suspected fentanyl pills 
  • Approximately $3,412 in cash 
  • A scale and numerous small clear plastic bags 

The 53-year-old male was arrested for unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of narcotics with intent to deliver. He was later booked into King County Jail.
