On Saturday, October 7th, two males were arrested after assaulting and attempting to rob a man at gunpoint in Magnuson Park.
Police arrived in the 7200 block of Sand Point Way Northeast around 10:30 p.m. and contacted the victim at a nearby business.
The 15-year-old male victim reported being approached by multiple suspects wearing all black clothing and ski masks except for one who had a white hooded sweatshirt. Three of the suspects pointed handguns at the young male as his pockets were searched for his belongings.
During the altercation, the victim was assaulted causing him to fall to the ground. While on the ground, the victim was kicked multiple times before he stood and ran from his assailants. As the victim ran, he heard gunshots but did not know where the shots came from.
Officers conducted a search and found two subjects matching the description of the suspects. As officers attempted to contact the two subjects, they ran from them. Police pursued the two subjects on foot and soon detained both of them.
One subject was observed walking back toward officers from a dumpster located on the side of the building. Police checked the dumpster and recovered a loaded shotgun. The other detained subject was found to be in possession of a black facemask.
Both 14-year-old male suspects were arrested for assault and robbery. They were booked into the King County Child and Family Justice Center.
