One male is deceased, and another is in custody after police responded to a shooting in the University District Monday evening.
Shortly before 5:00 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of male shot in the 4700 block of 15th Avenue Northeast. Officers arrived at an apartment complex and located a deceased male with a gunshot wound.
A suspect was identified and taken into custody.
Homicide detectives, along with members of the Crime Scene Investigation unit, responded to the scene. The Homicide unit will be leading the investigation.
Detectives are gathering evidence to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the shooting. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
