A 21-year-old male was injured, and detectives are searching for suspects after gunfire erupted in the Central District Wednesday night.
Shortly after 10:30 p.m., officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired near the intersection of 24th Avenue and East Columbia Street. When officers arrived, they found two victims; one was uninjured, and the other had been shot in the arm. Officers provided aid until medics arrived. The injured victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
The exact circumstances leading up to the shooting are unknown. No suspects have been identified. Police processed the scene for evidence and located more than 40 shell casings of four different calibers.
The Gun Violence Reduction Unit will be leading the investigation.
