As a man was walking with his bike, he was suddenly struck by gunfire.
Police received a report about a shooting in the 4300 block of 7th Avenue Northeast. Callers heard shots in the area followed by someone yelling.
When officers arrived, they located a man on the off-ramp to 45th Avenue Northeast with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his leg. Prior to being shot, the man told police an unknown man yelled at him for reasons unclear to the 37-year-old victim. The suspect was not located at the time of the incident.
The victim was rendered aid by SPD at the scene while awaiting for Seattle Fire to arrive. SFD later transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of his injury.
Gun Violence Reduction Unit detectives will be conducting the follow up investigations.
