Detectives Investigate Fatal Shooting on Link Light Rail in Downtown Seattle

Seattle Police Department Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left an adult man fatally injured on a Link Light Rail train in Downtown Seattle.

Sunday night shortly after 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a report of a 26-year-old male shot on a Link Light Rail train between Pioneer Square and University Street stations.

Police arrived at University Street station and located a man with injuries. Officers preformed life saving measures, but the male succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.  

The suspect fled the scene shortly after the shooting and has not been identified.  

Homicide Unit detectives are leading the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.
