On December 11, 2023, Seattle Police arrested a 27-year-old male after he, along with several other suspects, attempted to burglarize a cannabis business in SODO.
Shortly before 3:00 a.m., the owner of the business called 911 to report multiple suspects attempting to break into their building in the 2700 block of 6th Place South.. The owner was off-site and watching the suspects on security cameras. As officers arrived, several suspects fled on foot and two vehicles sped away. After a foot pursuit, one of the suspects was taken into custody.
Police searched the building and determined the suspects were unable to gain entry before officers arrived. An abandoned vehicle was also recovered at the scene.
Officers learned the suspect had an outstanding warrant for possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding and resisting arrest. The male was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Burglary
This is an open and on-going investigation. Detectives are working to identify the remaining suspects.
