Seattle Police arrested a 17-year-old student at a South Seattle high school for possession of a handgun on campus.
On April 22nd, at approximately 2 p.m., officers responded to the 5500 block of 15th Avenue South to a report of a student that was seen with a firearm. Officers arrived and contacted the student and found a handgun on his person. It was seized as evidence.
The suspect was placed under arrest. He was later booked into juvenile detention at the Judge Patricia H. Clark Children & Family Justice Center.
The circumstances involving the student’s decision to bring a weapon onto school grounds are unknown. This is an on-going investigation.
