#2024-129549/South precinct/Third Watch:
At approximately 0142hrs, an East Pct officer reported hearing 20 shots in the area of the 700blk of S Charles St. Officers located multiple shell casings, and live rounds and parts from a broken high-capacity pistol magazine in the parking lot, sidewalk and roadway near Jose Rizal Park. No victims or property damage was reported.
#2024-129787/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0913 hours, Officers were dispatched to 2215 1 Av. the Bell Tower SHA apartment housing to investigate a property destruction incident. The suspect, a resident was high on illegal substances and caused over $3000-$4000 of damage to the electrical system in the hallway, his apartment’s electrical system, and walls. Officers arrested the suspect for Malicious Mischief. AMR responded and assisted with the transport to KCJ. During the transport, the suspect spat at an Officer’s face and an AMR female staff. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Investigation of Assault 3 and Investigation of Malicious Mischief. 211 was advised. Hazard report completed.
#2024-127007/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1430, an unhoused person charged at Seattle Parks Employees wielding a 3-inch fixed blade knife. The suspect stopped short and threatened to stab the Parks employee and blow his head off. The parks employee was able to create distance and retreat to a safe spot away from the suspect. ART Officers were not aware of this incident until later in the afternoon and were unable to do an area check for the suspect. Today the suspect was located in Ballard and placed under arrest without incident and booked into KCJ.
#2024-129969/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1229 hours, Officers responded to a disturbance call at Cal Anderson Park. An Officer spoke to a witness and there was no probable cause for a crime. The witness was able to point out the subject who was walking away. While speaking to the witness the subject came back. They walked into the lanes of traffic and threw and item at a car stopped for a light. The Officer attempted to contact the subject who ran away once they were told they were being detained. The Officer apprehended the subject. The Subject sustained a visible injury to their knee. The officer received an abrasion to their elbow. Both the subject and officer declined medical aid. The Subject was ITA’d.
#2024-130040/North Precinct/Second Watch:
Officers on-viewed a SUV in the Ballard Fred Meyer parking lot with a stolen license plate and the driver slumped over the wheel. Officers created a plan to conduct a high-risk vehicle stop after terminators were placed. They attempted to hail the driver, who fled the scene, pushing an unoccupied vehicle out of the way. The suspect then swerved into an arriving patrol vehicle, making no attempt to avoid it and hitting the passenger side door as it fled. Thankfully the door integrity held and the officer sitting in the passenger seat was not injured. A short pursuit ensued before officers intentionally struck the vehicle from behind, effectively disabling it. The suspect then attempted to flee on foot and carjack a nearby vehicle before being taken into custody by officers on scene. No injuries to officers or the suspect were reported. The suspect was taken to the hospital for DUI blood draw and an unrelated pre-existing condition. He will be booked into KCJ for Assault 1st degree, Possession of a stolen vehicle, eluding, DUI, possession with intent to distribute, attempted carjacking, and a pre-existing felony warrant for DUI and attempt to elude after being medically cleared.
