#2024-131131/West Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1529 hours, officers were assigned a detail at City Hall. SPD was advised a possible protest may occur during today’s council meeting. Officers coordinated with City Hall staff and security to assist if the meeting was disrupted. During the meeting, a brief disruption occurred, and an individual was escorted out of the chambers by security and SPD without incident. After a brief recess, the council resumed, and no further disruptions were reported. Incident was screened with 214.
#2024-131275/South Precinct/Second Watch:
A shooting call was dispatched in George Sector and the scene was discovered to be close by in Robert sector. No information was known initially other than a shot fired and a suspect still on scene. Later it was discovered a subject had confronted some people attempting to prowl their car. The alleged prowlers left the scene when the subject produced a handgun and shot once into the tire of their minivan. Officers arrived and contacted the shooter who was cooperative. The car prowl suspects were not located. Handgun was recovered and the shooter was arrested for unlawful discharge of a firearm.
