At 1700 hours, the Mexican Government held their presidential elections. The Mexican Consulate located on Capitol Hill provided four voting booths for Mexican citizens to vote. The polls were to be open from 0700 – 1730 hours. More than 2,000 Mexican citizens arrived at the consulate to vote, with a line over two blocks long. Due to only having four voting booths however voting was very slow with the line barely moving. At approximately 1700 hours voters were informed that they would possibly not be able to vote. Voters expressed their frustration but remained peaceful and nonviolent. At 1730 hours the Mexican Consulate Doors closed without any issues. The crowd dispersed peacefully. 242 arrived on scene to monitor and PIO was notified.
