#2024-195654/Southwest Precinct/First Watch:
At 0118 hours, the victim was in his vehicle parked at the 1000 BLK of Harbor Ave SW. A vehicle drove up and multiple suspects exited the vehicle. The suspects confronted the victim and spoke to him in Spanish. The suspects told the victim to exit his vehicle. Many of the suspects pointed a handgun against the victim’s body and demanded his personal property. The victim complied, and the suspects threw his cell phone in the water. Two of the suspects took the victim’s car and sped away Southbound on Harbor Ave SW. The vehicle left Northbound on Harbor Ave SW. The suspects weren’t located. The SPD Robbery Unit was notified about the incident.

At 2001 hours, Officers were dispatched to a disturbance in an apartment complex. During their investigation, they developed probable cause to arrest the suspect for a hate crime offense based upon threats to kill the victim due to his protected class. Suspect was arrested without issue and booked into KCJ. Incident screened with 213 and all required notifications made via email.
