#2024-272627/South Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0219 hours, Officers were dispatched to a shots heard call in the Rainier Beach Neighborhood. Officers arrived and located 29 spent casings in the street and sidewalk. A short time later a victim with a gunshot wound was dropped off at HMC. The victim was in stable condition. No suspect information was provided. Patrol processed the scene. 253 and GVRU were notified.
#2024-272643/Southwest Precinct/Third Watch:
At 0328 hours, the victim was inside her apartment located at the 7500 BLK of 24 Ave SW. The suspect broke a window and entered the victim’s room. The suspect grabbed the victim’s cell phone, and she grabbed it back. The suspect then grabbed the victim’s cellphone a second time and grabbed perfumes along with other items. The suspect exited the apartment, drove away, and struck an unoccupied vehicle. Officers conducted an area search and responded to the suspect’s house. The suspect wasn’t located.
#2024-271711/East Precinct/Second Watch:
At 0900 hours, CRT, working with KCPAO, FBI, ATF, WSP, and National Parks Department served a warrant for violation of an Extreme Risk Protection Order (ERPO) on Bainbridge Island. In total, over 25 firearms have been collected under this ERPO.
#2024-272696/West Precinct/First Watch:
At 0601 hours, SPD Officers responded to investigate an assault with a weapon in the West Precinct area. Upon arrival, the arriving officer saw the suspect #1 (S1) inside the lobby, and they were detained. Additional units located the victim inside his unit and found the handgun left behind by S1. Officers rendered aid until SFD arrived. The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. It was determined that the victim met three subjects at a pizza place overnight and invited them to his apartment. Eventually, all three subjects left the apartment. Two (S1 and S2) of the three subjects returned a short time later and knocked on his door. The victim answered the door and S1 produced a gun and threatened to kill him. He fought off S1, and he was pistol-whipped on his head during the incident. The victim called 911 after he fought off S1 and S2. The victim positively identified S1. S2 is still outstanding. S1 was booked into KCJ for Assault 1. Patrol processed the scene and interviewed the witness. Homicide was notified.
#2024-271920/North Precinct/Second Watch:
At 1723 hours, the suspect committed an armed robbery with a hammer, taking the victim’s wallet which included ID’s and bank cards. And area check for the suspect resulted negative. Later, University District patrol officers spotted a male matching the suspect’s description and detained him. The victim made a positive ID, and the suspect was arrested (less than a block from the victim’s home) and had relevant evidence in his pocket. He was armed with two knives at the time of arrest. The suspect was booked into KCJ for Armed Robbery.
