Seattle police are investigating a smash-and-grab burglary in the Fremont neighborhood early Monday morning, Jan. 27.
At approximately 3:00 a.m., dispatchers received reports of a large truck crashing into a bank in the 4300 block of Stone Way North. Officers responded and observed three to four suspects fleeing the scene in separate vehicles at high speeds.
Police determined the suspects stole a forklift from a nearby construction site, used it to crash through the bank’s front entrance, and caused significant damage. Once inside, the suspects removed two ATMs, loading one into a vehicle. While attempting to load the second ATM, the suspects collided with a parked car and were unable to take the second machine.
No arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The scene was processed by patrol officers and will be further investigated by General Investigations detectives.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Seattle Police non-emergency number at (206) 625-5011.
