
Seattle police arrested a Capitol Hill man on Jan. 30 for sharing and possessing child sexual abuse material. This follows a monthslong investigation by the SPD Internet Crimes Against Children Unit and members of the Washington State ICAC Task Force.
According to the report, the 40-year-old suspect had several aliases, including identifying as a 40-year-old man, 18-year-old female, 15-year-old female and 13-year-old female while messaging others online.
Investigators determined the suspect had sexually explicit conversations specifically mentioning children and shared child sexual abuse material, including photos and videos, on a messaging app.
Members of the Seattle Police Department’s Community Response Group served a warrant on the suspect’s home and later located him at his place of employment where he was taken into custody.
The suspect was arrested for possession of depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and dealing in depictions of a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
He was booked in the King County Jail.
