Update: Police Arrest Man for Central District Homicide

Homicide detectives developed probable cause to arrest a 30-year-old man responsible for the Central District homicide.  

With the assistance of Community Response Group officers, detectives in the Gun Violence Reduction and Narcotics Units, and the SWAT team, the suspect was located Saturday afternoon and arrested.

He was booked into King County Jail for Investigation of Murder.


Seattle police detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the Central District this morning. 

At 4:25 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of East Spruce Street. They located an unconscious man suffering from a gunshot wound when they arrived. 

Police and the Seattle Fire Department provided medical treatment to the victim and he was transported to Harborview Medical Center. Despite all life-saving measures, the man was pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. No arrests have been made at this time. The circumstances leading up to the fatal shooting are under investigation. 

Police cordoned off the area, and detectives with the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to process the scene.
