Two handguns, piles of ammunition, shotgun bandoliers, magazines, and knives are now in SPD evidence after the arrest of an 18-year-old in North Seattle yesterday.
On March 12, at 11:45 a.m., patrol officers responded to the Northgate neighborhood after a keen-eyed witness dialed 911 to report a man sleeping in what he thought might be a stolen car inside a garage.
Once officers arrived at the parking garage in the 11000 block of 5th Avenue Northeast, they found the 18-year-old man inside the Hyundai. The man, according to the report, was surrounded by weapons and tactical equipment.
Police arrested the suspect without incident and recovered:
- Two stolen handguns
- Handgun and shotgun ammunition
- Handgun magazines, shotgun bandoliers
- Black balaclava, tactical gloves, knives
The suspect, who is a three-time convicted felon, is a suspect in a November 2024 armed robbery of a convenience store. This case remains under investigation.
Police booked the suspect into King County Jail for multiple firearms charges, Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and a $20,075 warrant for Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
Due to his previous felony convictions, the suspect is prohibited from possessing firearms.
