A 41-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after he threw a full keg of beer, groped several women, and hurled a beer bottle at a bartender inside a Capitol Hill bar.
Just after midnight on April 22nd, officers were dispatched to the bar in the 1400 block of East Olive Way for reports of a man causing a violent ruckus.
When officers arrived the suspect behind the mayhem was gone. Officers found the man driving nearby and stopped him as he got out of his car.
The man appeared to be clearly impaired. A field sobriety test confirmed officers’ suspicion. The man had an open alcoholic beverage in his car, and he was driving on a suspended license. He was required by court order to have an ignition interlock device but didn’t.
Police arrested the man for:
- Three counts of Assault
- Two counts of Special Allegation – Sexual Motivation
- Harassment
- Driving Under the Influence
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Without an Ignition Interlock Device
- Driver’s License Suspended/Revoked 3rd Degree
Officers transported the suspect to the hospital pending a search warrant for blood evidence. While there, the man assaulted an SPD officer. Hospital staff did not draw his blood due to his unsafe behavior.
Police booked the man into the King County Jail. Homicide & Assault detectives are assigned to this case.
