Police Arrest Man in Double Assault at Occidental Square

Seattle police arrested a 41-year-old man Sunday night after he stabbed one man and knocked another unconscious during a fight in Seattle’s Occidental Square.

Officers responded around 7:43 p.m. to reports of a stabbing in Occidental Square at 117 South Washington Street. They found a 44-year-old man with a knife still lodged in his back. Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department medics arrived and transported him to Harborview Medical Center, where medical staff removed the knife. He remains in serious condition.

Police found a second victim, a 48-year-old man, unconscious on the ground. Medics treated him at the scene and took him to Harborview Medical Center for observation.

Witnesses told officers the suspect punched one man, knocking him out, then stabbed the other during a fight. The suspect fled but officers arrested him shortly afterward at 3rd Avenue and Washington Street.

The suspect was booked into King County Jail for investigation of assault.
