Police Investigating Shooting in North Seattle

Seattle police detectives are investigating after a 22-year-old man was shot in North Seattle this morning.

At about 2:30 a.m., patrol officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 4200 block of 12th Avenue Northeast. Police arrived and found blood, multiple shell casings, and property damaged by gunfire, yet they did not locate any victims.

Officers determined that a group of late teens to early twenties were throwing a large party nearby. When the party ended, an altercation occurred and two people were seen shooting at each other. Multiple people were on foot weaving in and out of the gunfire.

While on investigating, a victim was dropped off at Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in stable condition. While leaving the party earlier, he got shot in the arm.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are under investigation. Detectives with the Gun Violence Reduction Unit responded to process the scene, and also to HMC for interviews.

If anyone has information, they are asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.
