
Officers responded to a shooting late Monday night that injured a 59-year-old man in South Seattle.
At 11:42 p.m., a dispatcher received a report of a shooting near South Hardy Street and Airport Way South. Officers responded and found a man with buckshot wounds to his lower body. Seattle Fire Department personnel provided medical aid on scene. The victim was alert and conscious and was transported to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.
The investigation revealed a disturbance occurred shortly before a single shot was fired. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle before officers arrived. Police searched the area but did not locate the suspect.
Detectives from the Gun Violence Reduction Unit are leading the investigation and are working to determine what led to the shooting.
