Seattle police are investigating a stabbing early Tuesday that left a 56-year-old man seriously injured in the South Lake Union neighborhood.
At 5:51 a.m., officers responded to a reported of a stabbing at 6th Avenue North and Harrison Street.
Police found the man suffering from a stab wound. Officers provided medical aid until Seattle Fire Department (SFD) medics arrived and took over lifesaving efforts. SFD transported him to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police are actively investigating to determine what led up to the stabbing. The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived and was not located.
Homicide and Assault Unit detectives are handling the investigation.
