Seattle Police Arrest Suspect in SODO Homicide

On July 29 at about 4:30 p.m., Seattle police officers located and arrested the suspect in a recent homicide that occurred in the SODO neighborhood on July 14. Officers transported the 35-year-old woman to Seattle Police Headquarters to be interviewed by homicide detectives.

Police booked the suspect into the King County Jail for Murder 2nd Degree.

Detectives Seeking Public Assistance Identifying Person of Interest in SODO Homicide

Seattle police detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest in a homicide that occurred in the SODO neighborhood on July 14.

Homicide detectives want to speak to this person about the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old man near 6th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street. The person of interest is a white female, with medium-length strawberry blonde hair, and a distinctive tattoo on the left side of her neck. She is believed to frequent the SODO neighborhood.

Detectives Investigating Fatal Stabbing in SODO

Seattle police detectives are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 55-year-old man in the SODO neighborhood this evening.  

At about 6:20 p.m., officers responded to a stabbing near 6th Avenue South and South Massachusetts Street. There, police met with King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies, who were previously waved down by a community member regarding a man stabbed inside of a van.

Despite all life-saving efforts performed by KCSO deputies, the victim succumbed to his injuries. The Seattle Fire Department pronounced the man deceased at the scene. 

Seattle police cordoned off the area until detectives with the Homicide and Crime Scene Investigation Units arrived to process the scene. 

Officers did not make any arrests. Anyone with information is asked to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000. Anonymous tips are accepted.
