Seattle police officers are investigating a shooting that injured a 47-year-old man in Belltown this evening.
Just after 6:00 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a person shot near 3rd Avenue and Blanchard Street. There, officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg. Police provided medical aid to the victim until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and continued treatment.
An American Medical Response ambulance transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police determined that multiple individuals got into a dispute in the moments leading up the shooting. The suspect left the area before police arrived, and they did not locate him. Nor did they locate the firearm, taken by another man involved in the altercation, who also left the area.
Analysts in the Real Time Crime Center captured video of the shooting and collected it as evidence.
